Inquiry as Engagement
Collaborate with others as you experience methods to facilitate student participation in crafting essential questions to guide inquiry using methods like the Question Formulation Technique, Five Whys and Inquiry Design Model. Learn how to extend inquiry into service learning projects for authentic audiences. Examine how to best assess inquiry, to not only measure, but enhance, student growth. Explicit connection will be made to the Illinois Social Science standards, the Common Core State Standards, Social Emotional Learning standards and the Danielson Framework for Effective Teaching. Participants are encouraged to bring technology and will have time to explore resources and apply learning. Appropriate for grades K-12.
