Course # AA1583

Leveraging Emotional Awareness for Effective School Administrators
Well-developed emotional intelligence results in stronger leadership, better decision-making and social-emotional growth. This course will strengthen participants' ability to leverage the emotions that may be affecting their performance as well as the performance of their staff and students. Participants will assess their emotional intelligence EQ in each of the five areas, as identified by Daniel Goleman. They will learn the components of emotional intelligence, how emotional intelligence influences interactions with others, how to identify potential interference of emotions on day-to-day interactions, and the effect emotions play on decision-making. They develop a plan to strengthen their own EQ to avoid making high-risk decisions without recognizing how emotions may be influencing their choices.
