Empowering Students through Evaluating Sources and Using Evidence
The new IL Social Studies Standards require students to evaluate sources and use evidence to support inquiry. Empower your students to be wise consumers and producers of information through news literacy tools that can enhance your current practice. Experience strategies that require students to examine multiple perspectives in order to communicate conclusions and take informed action. Explicit connections will be made to the IL Social Studies Standards, the Common Core State Standards, Social Emotional Learning Standards, 21st Century Skills and the Danielson Framework for Effective Teaching.
