Unpacking Illinois' New Education Law: SB564 Teaching the History & Contributions of all Faiths
In this session, you will be introduced to Illinois' New School Code Law, We must teach the history and contributions of all faiths. Learn about the law, why it is so important, and what it means for schools and districts. Build your background of the contributions three of America's minority faiths Jews, Muslims, and Hindus have made to American history. Learn how you can tweak the curriculum you are already teaching to meet the new laws requirements. Participate in sample lessons, and leave with resources that can be used in your classrooms. Through a mix of presentation, discussion, and activities, teaching strategies will be shared on how to create a more inclusive curriculum for all students!
