Course # 1075

Implementing the Computer Literacy Guidelines

The Computer Literacy guidelines developed by ISBE are mandated in all K-12 schools in Illinois.  In this workshop, we’ll explore what computer literacy is, the K-12 Computer Literacy Knowledge and Skill Continuum, and how you can bring computer literacy into your classrooms.  We will unpack the guidelines, conduct a self-assessment to identify gaps in knowledge and implementation, and begin to align resources and tools to the guidelines at each grade level.  This session is great for administrators planning to implement the guidelines, tech directors or coaches helping teachers integrate them, or educators responsible for teaching the standards. You’ll walk away with a solid plan on how to ensure students at all grade levels are equitably prepared for the 21st century.
